Mahindra & Mahindra’s electric division recently launched its new electric CitySmart car, the ‘e2oPlus’ with prices starting from attractive Rs. 5.46 lakh (for the P4 variant ex-showroom Delhi, post state subsidy and FAME incentive).
Mahindra e2oPlus – FrontView
The company now has four electric products in its portfolio: e2o, e2oPlus, e Verito and e-Supro. With zero emission, the e2oPlus is set to usher in a whole new concept in urban mobility and effortlessly cruise through city traffic. The tall-boy design and spacious interiors make for a compact city car that can comfortably seat four adults.
A total of 4 variants of the e2oPlus will on offer – P2, P4, P6 and P8. The entry-level P2 variant will be limited for taxi operators, thus be sold only on yellow plates. The first three variants are powered by a 48 V Li-ion battery pack and 19 kW (25 BHP) electric motor with a torque rating of 70 Nm. It has an operational range of 110 km, that takes 6 hours to charge on a regular 16 Amp charger. While the automaker is also proving fast charging capabilities to the fleet-exclusive P2 trim, with 3-phase 32 Amp charger that can charge the car to 95% in 75 minutes. This motor can take the e2oPlus from 0-60 KMPH in 14.1 seconds, and attain a top speed of 80 KMPH.
However, the top-spec P8 variant comes powered by 30 kW (40 BHP) electric motor with a torque rating of 91. Due to a larger battery pack, this variant can travel for upto 140 kms but takes 9 hours to charge on a regular 16 Amp supply and 90 minutes to reach the 95% level on a 3-Phase 32 Amp charger. It can sprint from 0-60 KMPH in 9.5 seconds and can reach a top speed of 85 KMPH.
Mahindra e2oPlus – RearView
The top-end P8 trim gets a 30 kW (40 BHP) motor that generates 91 Nm of torque. It has a company claimed 0-60 km/h time of 9.5 seconds and a top speed of 85 km/h. Owing to a larger battery pack, this variant takes 9 hours to charge on a regular 16 Amp supply and 90 minutes to reach the 95% level on a 3-Phase 32 Amp charger.
