Lionel Messi new brand ambassador of Tata Motors

Tata Motors has announced the football player star, 4 consecutive times Best Player of the World (2009-2012), Lionel Messi, has its brand ambassador to promote and endorse its passenger vehicles across the world.

The company has released the short video, which features, Lionel Messi saying “Namaste India”, announcing his partnership with India’s Tata Motors. The association will see Lionel Messi promoting a range of new Tata cars, first of it is expected to be the upcoming Kite hatchback. Tata Motors will also be launching limited edition merchandising range of this association.

Tata Motors have said that this will not be a one-off deal. In fact, their association with Lionel Messi is a long term commitment. Aiming to go global, Lionel Messi will help Tata Motors penetrate newer markets across the globe. To start with, Tata Motors will first roll-out the association campaign, #madeofgreat, starring Lionel Messi.

At present Lionel Messi plays for Barcelona FC in club football, he is reportedly worth over $180 million. However, it is not clear as to how much Tata Motors had to shell-out in order to get Lionel Messi on board. The deal will surely run into millions of dollars.

Speaking on the association with Tata Motors, Lionel Messi said –

“Namaste India. I am very excited about my first association with an Indian brand and am extremely thrilled to be a part of the Tata Motors family. I have always been fascinated by India and have heard such great things about this diverse country. I was once in India with Argentina National Team and I hope to visit it again. Tata Motors is a true representation of India and a well-established brand, globally. It is important to believe in yourself and keep pushing to achieve success and that is what the first campaign stands for. I hope together we are able to inspire many more.”
