India is fast becoming a prime market for sports cars as is evident by the entry of Ferrari cars in India and now that Lamborghini is expanding its showrooms in India. Soon the Italian luxury and super sports cars maker will be launching its second showroom in Mumbai. Just prior to the launch which is expected in the coming days, banners showing that Lamborghini is coming to Mumbai are up across the city. Currently, there is only one Lamborghini showroom in India and it is in Chanakyapuri in New Delhi.
With the new showroom in the business capital of India, the Italian car maker has high hopes to further sale of Lamborghini cars in India. The line up for India includes Lamborghini Aventador at a price of Rs 4.12 crore and Lamborghini Gallardo at Rs 2.20 crore. Meanwhile, the latest launch Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 is expected in mid of this year. Lamborghini cars are imported as completely built units in India and are fine tuned to run on normal petrol instead of high octane fuel which is not commonly available in the country.
The Lamborghini Mumbai showroom will be in Prabhadevi in South Mumbai and there has been much hustle bustle to welcome the sports car in Mumbai already. The Lamborghini Delhi Showroom is now six years old and it has contributed a lot in establishing the car brand in India. With the present expansion, the sports car makers also will be increasing its model line up for India. Where the Mumbai showroom is expected to be assigned to Autohangar it is also located in the vicinity of the showrooms of Mercedes Benz, Volkswagen and Skoda India.
However, even after only a sole showroom in India and which is in Delhi, Lamborghini has been a favorite super car of Mumbaikers. As per a survey still there are many Lamborghini Gallardo in Mumbai compared to elsewhere in India and it seems to be this response from Mumbai that the Italian car maker has zeroed in Mumbai as its destination for its second showroom.
