Super-sports car maker Lamborghini has appointed first dealership in the financial capital of the country, Mumbai. The report claims that Autohangar will open a brand new showroom in Worli or a south Mumbai location which is upmarket area of the city. Currently, the Volkswagen owned Italian sportscar brand sold its cars in India through a sole dealership, Delhi-based Exclusive Motors.
In recent time we saw some high profile launches of Maserati, Koenigsegg and Bentley in India. Today, British luxury brand Aston Martin launched its whole range in the country which is emerging as hub for luxury car market. With another Italian sportscar brand, Ferrari, is set to launch soon, Lamborghini is looking to take some extra efforts to reach the customers with an additional dealer.
While Exclusive Motors will continue to serve customers in North India, Autohangar will look after Western India. Autohangar is also the largest Mercedes dealer in Mumbai. However, it is not clear how the two dealers will share other territories in the rest of the country.
Lamborghinis are likely to be less expensive in the near future. According to company sources, Lamborghini has given a special allocation to India of 8-10 Aventadors and there is already a queue of Indian buyers who are willing to shelve-out Rs. 4 crore for Lamborghini’s 700bhp supercar.
