KTM Duke 200 in India to be priced at around Rs.1.25 – Rs.1.31 lakhs

KTM Duke 200

India’s second largest two wheeler maker Bajaj Auto Limited, will be launching the eagerly awaited KTM Duke 200 in January 2012, and will be sold through Bajaj’s pro-biking showrooms initially which will be rebranded with the KTM logo. The anticipation is growing to the extreme levels since it will be one of the smallest of the Duke family and the very first in the Indian market.

Ahead of its launch the bike’s pricing has leaked over the Internet and as per the same piece of information, it will be killer priced between Rs. 1.25 Lakhs and Rs. 1.31 Lakhs. At this cracker of a price, the KTM Duke 200 manages to fly the Bajaj value-for-money flag very high.

The KTM Duke 200 will be powered by a single cylinder, 200cc, liquid cooled, DOHC, four valve engine although the Indian state of tune remains unknown at the moment. The interesting part about the bike is its performance figures which stand at 26 BHP at 10,000 RPM and 20 Nm at 8,000 RPM for peak power and peak torque respectively.

The Duke 200 will come with many interesting features which are not seen in many sports bikes costing double as much as Duke. A very such feature is the USD front forks manufactured by Austrian suspension maker WP. To bring costs down, Bajaj Auto has localized plenty of components like the switchgear, tyres and plastics. The KTM Duke 200 will be manufactured at Bajaj Auto’s Chakan manufacturing unit.
