Korean car maker, Hyundai India has enhanced its hatchback Eon with new 1.0-litre engine, which was ealrlier offered with 0.8-litre engine configuration. This 1.0-litre 3-cylinder engine is capable of generating the power of 65 bhp and torque of 95 Nm, and comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The 0.8-litre engine will continue to do duties on the Eon. Only the higher-end Magna variant of the car will be offered with the new 1.0-litre engine.
Now, these are the firstever pictures of Hyundai Eon 1.0-litre online, taken at a Hyundai India dealership in unknown location. Looking at the firstever pictures, the only visual difference between the 0.8-litre and the 1.0-litre variant is that of the badges, with the Eon 1.0-litre getting a 1.0 badge to pronounce its higher engine displacement. Other than badges, we don’t find any other styling changes on the Eon 1.0-litre.
Hyundai Eon 1.0-litre – Engine
Although the company haven’t officially announced this variant, a report suggests that the Eon 1.0-litre will come only in the Magna trim with standard features such as power windows, air conditioning, power steering, engine immobilizer, keyless entry and 13-inch steel wheels with full wheel covers. However, Eon Magna 1.0-litre will not have a music system as the same is not being provided by the company.
The Hyundai Eon 1.0-litre is expected to be priced at Rs. 3.85 lakh (ex-Mumbai) and will be roll-out for deliveries hopefully from next month. While the Eon 0.8-litre rivals cars like the Maruti Alto 800, the Eon 1.0-litre will directly compete with the likes of Alto K10 and Datsun Go.
