While Honda Cars India has already started teasing its very first diesel powered car-Brio-Amaze on its official Indian website. Now the company has also start teasing the 2013 CR-V crossover on the website. We are very happy that the new Honda CR-V is finally making it to our car market, but the bad news is that new CR-V, like its predecessor will not offer diesel option.
The launch is scheduled to take place in February-2013. The exact technical specifications and pricing of the 2013 CR-V will be known closer to the launch, the crossover that India will get comes with a lot of chrome treatment has Indian car buyers’ prefer plenty of chrome on their cars. Also there is a talk about Honda assembling the 2013 CR-V crossover in India through the CKD route instead of directly importing the car as a completely built unit (CBU).
Like the previous version, it will compete with the likes of the Toyota Fortuner, the Ssangyong Rexton and the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport range of SUVs. While all these SUVs feature turbo diesel engines as standard, the new CR-V will be available only in 2 petrol engine options in India – 2.0-litre i-VTEC and 2.4-litre i-VTEC with both manual and automatic transmission. It will be sold in front wheel and all-wheel-drive options.
The 2013 Honda CR-V crossover is speculated to be priced around Rs 28 lakh.
