Earlier this-year, we made known to our readers that Honda is silently working on a sub-Dream Yuga to direct attack on their erstwhile partners, Hero Motocorp. Today, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India have taken the wraps-off its latest commuter motorcycle called the ‘Dream Neo’. This new model will slot in under the Dream Yuga in Honda’s commuter bike line-up that also includes the upmarket CB Twister.
The Dream Neo is an 110cc motorcycle with a claimed fuel efficiency figure of 74 kmpl, it will take on the Hero’s bread and butter bike, Splendor. It features Honda’s proprietary Honda Eco Technology (HET), with ‘improved piston and combustion chamber design’, and Intelligent Ignition Control, which makes Dream Neo to deliver best-in-class mileage.
Honda Dream Neo comes with some best in class features like maintenance free battery, viscous air filter and tubeless tyres. Its 109cc engine develops a maximum power output of 8.25bhp at 7500rpm and max torque of 8.63Nm at 5500rpm. Ground clearance is 179mm while wheelbase stands at 1258mm.
Honda has priced Dream Neo approximately Rs 3500 cheaper than Dream Yuga. But what Honda has done is, pit Dream Neo right under the throat of Hero’s Splendor series of bikes. The Hero Splendor+ is priced at Rs 42,950, Hero Splendor NXG is available for Rs 42,250 and the Hero Splendor Pro is priced at Rs 44,150 (all prices mentioned here are of ex-showroom Delhi).
