BMW Group India has announced the launch of a new variant of the 3-Series Gran Turismo called the 320d Gran Turismo Sport in the country priced at Rs. 46.60 lakh (ex-showroom).
Based on the standard 3-Series Gran Turismo, the Sport variant comes with the Sport Line package like a new twin-pod LED headlights and L-shaped LED tail lights, kidney grille with gloss black slats, frameless windows and an chromed-out exhaust pipes on the exterior. A total of 3 paint schemes are on offer: Black Sapphire (metallic), Imperial Blue Brilliant Effect (metallic) and Alpine White (non-metallic).
On the inside, the 320d GT Sport gets sports seats as standard and has leather interiors with Ash Grain and Pearl Chrome trim, sports steering wheel with red contrast stitching and gear shift paddles.
Other features include an 10.5-inch instrument cluster, automatic high beam assist, parking sensors, 8.7-inch colour screen with navigation & Apple CarPlay connectivity, 9-speaker (205 Watt) audio system, standard BMW iDrive Touch with handwriting recognition, head-up display, panoramic sunroof, rain sensing wipers, automatic headlights and 2-zone automatic climate control among others.
Only engine option available is a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine generating 188 BHP @ 4,000 rpm and a peak torque of 400 Nm @ 1,750-2,500 rpm paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission with 4 driving modes – Comfort, ECOPRO, Sport and Sport+. It gets launch control but misses out on cruise control with braking function.
As far as safety is concerned, BMW 320d Gran Turismo Sport gets the ABS with Brake Assist and Cornering Brake Control, airbags, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), traction control, rear view camera and ISOFIX child safety seat anchors.
