World’s largest two-wheeler manufactuer, Hero MotoCorp is considering an entry into the 4-wheeler market with its range of cars and LCVs. The Delhi-based company has expressed its intentions to foray into the production of 4-wheelers. If everything goes well, Hero MotoCorp will join global giants like Honda, Suzuki and BMW as successful manufacturers of 2-wheelers as well as 4-wheelers.

Currently, Hero MotoCorp is focusing on lower rung small cars and local product development. The company which was known formerly as Hero Honda, has unveiled a host of motorcycles from different segments which showed its urge to keep evolving. These include the Hastur 650 cc and HX250R 250 cc motorcycles and the Leap and RnT scooters. The association with Erik Buell Racing has seen a DNA shift within Hero motorcycles, and we’d like to see if/with whom Hero collaborates for their 4-wheeler development.
Bajaj too is trying the same. In fact, they are a step ahead where it comes to entering the car industry. Apart from their RE60 quadricycle, which will be launched by October-2014, the company also showcased their first concept in the form of U-Car Concept at 2014 Auto Expo to take feedback on whether or not to put the concept to production. The U-Car gets a 4-valve, triple spark, fuel-injected liquid-cooled petrol engine with an automatic transmission. Bajaj Auto has however denied that it has intentions of entering the highly competitive four-wheeler passenger vehicle segment.
