No, we’re not joking. Here is how it all started. A £350,000 customized Lamborghini Aventador, supposedly belongs to a 24-year old Nasser Thani a member of the royal Al-Thani family, current rulers of Qatar, brought on his trip to United Kingdom. London is the racing ground for wealthy foreign tourists who descend on the capital each summer to show off their super cars. This has not gone down well with local residents who fear that fast and reckless driving styles are causing problems in the area.

Earlier last-week, the London police pull him over for not having a front number plate, but upon further inspection they find that the owner was not carrying / failed to produce a valid license, nor did he have the correct insurance papers. Now the Italian bull simply sits outside New Scotland Yard as a warning to future would-be illegal drivers, until the police figures out what to do with it.

Could it be crushed? Maybe, it has happened in the past, and with the London police impounding more and more supercars, they might as well do that. But this isn’t the only super sports car that the police have seized. They reportedly have been nabbing a bunch of sports cars lately that are driving around uninsured. That means you could soon find a Lamborghini Aventador in a British junkyard.

This purple Lamborghini Aventador seen here, has been customized by Japanese tuning company, LB Performance to glow in the dark (like the one on Hollywood movie ‘Tron’), was impounded near Harrod’s in Knightsbridge earlier this week. This is not the first time that the Al-Thani family and their super cars have been in the news for the wrong reasons. Three years ago it was their blue Lamborghini and Koenigsegg which were clamped at nearly the same location outside Harrods.

It would be an utterly stupid idea and a complete waste to destroy a perfectly good automobile, especially a supercar like Aventador . If they really have to destroy it, at least the police should give the car to Top Gear UK as they’ll take care of the Aventador and destroy it “gracefully”.
