Ford Figo Aspire unveiled in Mangalore, bookings commenced pan India

South India’s largest Ford dealer, Cauvery Ford yesterday unveiled the all-new Ford Figo Aspire in Mangalore, alongside the company also paid tribute to the 16th anniversary of the Kargil war, and two service chief’s were honoured at the event. The unveiling was carried-out by the Industrialist Mr. Vijaynath Vittal Shetty.

The Figo Aspire, a sub-4m sedan is likely to get a good response from the audience. To keep the Indian buyers happy and to offer this car in an attractive manner, the automaker has decided to offer nine exciting package options with many first-in-segment features.

The Figo Aspire sports an innovative feature like MyFord Dock which allows drivers to store, mount and charge mobile phones, MP3 players and satellite navigation systems, and to integrate these devices into the car’s entertainment system. It also gets the secret pocket which is nothing but a secret storage area between the dashboard and door.

Another interesting feature is Ford MyKey that allows owners to program keys with restricted driving modes that encourage good habits, such as increasing seat belt use, limiting vehicle top speeds and regulating audio volume. Furthermore, it gets dual front airbags as standard across all variants, whereas the top-end variant will offer a first-in-class 6 airbags (side and curtain airbags in addition to dual front).

The Figo Aspire is being offered in 3 engine choices – a 1.2-litre Ti-VCT petrol and a 1.5-litre TDCi diesel, both paired to a 5-speed manual transmission, while a 1.5-litre Ti-VCT petrol comes only in one variant mated to a 6-speed PowerShift automatic transmission. The ARAI certified mileage of petrol is 18.16 and 17.2 kmpl for the manual transmission and PowerShift respectively, while diesel stands at 25.8 kmpl.

A total of nine variants on the Figo Aspire are on offer – Ambiente, Trend, Titanium and Titanium+. While the 1.2-litre petrol comes in Ambiente, Trend, Titanium and Titanium+ variants. The 1.5-litre petrol automatic only comes in Titanium variant. The 1.5-litre diesel version is available in Ambiente, Trend, Titanium and Titanium+ variants. The Figo Aspire is available with a choice of seven body colours – Ruby Red, Sparkling Gold, Oxford White, Tuxedo Black, Deep Impact Blue, Ingot Silver and Smoke Grey.

Ford dealers across India have already started accepting bookings for the Figo Aspire at Rs 30,000, the booking amount for all the variants is same, with deliveries starting from next-month limited to 7,000 units in the first lot.
