Ford has revealed the first set of images and details of the new Everest Sport SUV. Essentially based on the Endeavour SUV, the Ford Everest Sport is sold in multiple ASEAN markets as well as in Australia.
The new Everest Sport variant gets its exteriors an all-black treatment, where all the chrome bits of the SUV are replaced by matt-black accents. In addition, instead of the traditional family grille seen on other Ford SUVs, it gets an all-new grille with a mesh pattern. Additionally, the model gets black-out alloy wheels–the same 20-inch models on top-spec trims.
To complete the Sport theme on the inside, the SUV gets black accents and slight interior changes. It also gets an exclusive badging on the front and on the sides. The Sport trim is available in 3.2-litre Everest in most of the international markets.
For India, Ford sells the Endeavour based on the chosen engine either with a 2.2-liter or 3.2-liter diesel engine options, the SUV is available with three trim options paired to either a 6-speed manual or an automatic torque converter. The model sees rigid competition in our market with the likes of the iconic Toyota Fortuner. It also competes with the likes of the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport and the Isuzu MU-X in India.
There is no news for the Indian market of a version of “Sport” on the SUV. The Endeavour is expected to be upgraded to the BS6 engine in the months ahead. A new Sport trim can help the brand boost the Indian market appeal of the SUV.
