Ford EcoSport’s aggressive price could affect the upcoming Maruti’s XA Alpha
After the recent launch of the much awaited Ford EcoSport, which has been priced very aggressively in the Indian market, has already also affected the sales of the SUV’s globally. So keeping this in view, the popular SUV’s in the Indian market such as Renault Duster, Mahindra Scorpio, Toyota Innova and the upcoming Maruti’s XA Alpha is expected to have tight competition as well as have an impact on its sales in the India market as well.
However till date, the main reason of Maruti to become the no.1 in the Indian market is the lower price and the wide after sales service provided throughout India which has no competition to any other rival car makers in India. Maruti XA Alpha was seen in the Auto Expo in New Delhi last year which would be the most awaited compact SUV after the Ford EcoSport in the Indian market whose production model is expected to be launched by the end of 2014. Since the Ford EcoSport has already been aggressively priced at 5.69 lakhs for the base version, Maruti Suzuki is going to extensively use components from Swift in order to price the upcoming XA Alpha aggressively.
So the only way that Maruti now can stand as being the no.1 is by introducing 4 wheel drive option which is currently lagging in EcoSport, pricing it aggressively or even introducing ABS, airbags and alloy wheels as standard.
