Ford Ecosport Storm spotted in Brazil, unlikely to arrive in India

Ford Motor Company is all-set to launch the Ecosport Storm in the Brazilian market. It was recently spotted in Brazil without any camouflage and is set to be the new edition of the Ecosport. It seems unlikely that Ford will bring the model to India, given the good response to its recently launched Ecosport facelift.

Ford EcoSport Storm will debut a 4WD system in the 2018 EcoSport range in Brazil.

The new edition of the Ecosport will be sportier than the current one, and will get both exterior and interior updates. One of the most significant change seen in the car is the ‘Storm’ badge on the front grille, giving it a tough look. Other than that, it will get black accents on the fog lamps going down till the bonnet and alloy wheels.

The interiors get a dual-tone colour of orange and grey, with features like a Touchscreen infotainment system and climate control. Other than that, it remains the same as the basic version of the Ecosport sold in Brazil. The compact SUV will feature a ‘Storm’ badge inside the cabin.

Ford will give the Ecosport Storm 2.0-litre petrol and diesel engines. The petrol engine will give 170 BHP of power and 202 Nm of Torque. As far as the Diesel engine is concerned, it produces 176 BHP of power and gives 221 Nm of Torque.

Its Brazil launch is expected to happen at the end of January, and India may not get this model. On the other hand, Ford is lining up a slew of new models for India like the Figo Cross, a premium SUV based on the Kuga and new versions of the Figo and Figo Aspire. These models are expected to arrive in our country in not so distant future.
