First unit of Maserati Levante SUV arrives in India at Bangalore

After making its global debut at last year’s Geneva Motor Show, India has the first buyer of Italian brand’s first-ever SUV, the ‘Maserati Levante’ prior to its official launch in the country.

India’s first Maserati Levante has landed in Bangalore. The city of fast vehicles, most exotic cars and a range of superbikes have just added yet another vehicle to its topplings. Seen in the picture, the Levante SUV wears a Blu Passione Mica exterior paint shade and is opted as a Luxury package with chromed front grille and skid plates finished in silver.

The Levante is the production version of the Maserati Kubang concept, it is based on the same platform that underpins the Maserati Quattroporte and the Maserati Ghibli. A total of 3 engine options are on offer – a 344 BHP/500 Nm 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 petrol engine, 424 BHP/580 Nm 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 petrol unit and 271 BHP/600 Nm 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 diesel mill, all coupled to an 8-speed automatic transmission with a Q4 all-wheel drive system and rear limited slip differential.

Noteworthy features on the Maserati’s first SUV include a full panoramic electric sunroof, an 8.4-inch Maserati Touch Control Plus infotainment system with navigation and 17-speakers by Bowers & Wilkins Surround Sound System, 12-way power adjustable front seats with heating and ventilation, heated rear seats and electrically adjustable pedals. It is design to compete with the likes of the Porsche Cayenne and the Mercedes GLE Coupe.
