Fiat India plans to refresh the Fiat Linea sedan and Fiat Grande Punto hatchback for the Indian market. However the company officials said, the upgraded Punto and Linea models with feature add-ons, it will be launched in New Delhi on the 3rd of January 2012. Fiat will not take part in Auto Expo and this event is likely be hosted at a different venue.
The refreshed Punto earlier was said the Fiat Bravo hatchback, but the feasibility study being conducted in India could not impress the company and Bravo will not hit our shores anytime soon. One of the core reasons is that Bravo was to be positioned between the Punto and Linea making it quite unaffordable as a hatchback.
The official added that there are no facelift or revision in terms of looks or engine will be there in the upgraded models and the revision for 2012 Punto and Linea vehicles. This makeover is along the lines of Ford’s recent upgrade on the Figo and Nissan’s tweaked Micra lineup with rear headrests and new badges.
Though isn’t a drastic step forward from the original the facelift will go hand in hand with the inauguration of new dealerships. It will give people another reason or purpose to visit the newly opened stores.
