Dubai surely has the most wicked police car fleet in the world. Criminals in the United Arab Emirates are in for a rude awakening because the Dubai Police force has just added a Ferrari FF, Lamborghini Aventador, Chevrolet Camaro SS supercar to a fleet that already includes a Dodge Charger and a BMW 5-Series.
“Dubai is a unique city and everything in it should reflect its uniqueness and for that reason police will add a Ferrari sports car to its patrol fleet,” Dubai’s police chief, Lieutenant General Dahi Khalfan Tamim told GulfBusiness.com.
“These sports cars will not be roaring and chasing speeding motorists. They will be used for roads security in different areas of Dubai.
“We have been pleasantly surprised for the reaction of people on the Lamborghini so we said a Ferrari would be a good choice too,” he added.
Dubai police announced their intention to buy the all-wheel-drive Ferrari via their Twitter feed with an accompanying picture.
The Aventador is powered by a 6.5-litre V12 good for 690 horsepower. The FF, on the other hand, is slightly less powerful, with its 6.3-litre V12 producing 651 hp. While the Camaro SS is powered by an 426 hp 6.2-litre V8, and retains its red leather interior.
Other vehicles reported to be among the Dubai police fleet are Toyota Landcruisers, Ford Police Interceptors and Hummers. Last year, Majid Motors also confirmed a handover of 50 units of the Kia Mohave to the General Department of Operations of Dubai Police. Of the 50 units, 35 were marked as patrol cars.
