Our good friends at IndianAutosBlog has posted this solitary shot of the Datsun redi-Go production model – the A-segment crossover’s face seems to have been brought in-line similar to its concept model that was displayed at the 2014 Auto Expo.
The above is the clearest yet spyshots of the Datsun redi-Go, showing the car’s front fascia for the first time. The overall design is carried over from its concept version, including the honeycomb grille, headlights, boomerang-shaped taillights, triangular base for the C-pillar and possible silver skid plate. Like its Renault counterpart, the redi-Go features a single wiper and skinny tyres to keep costs on-check.
Based on the Renault-Nissan’s CMF-A platform used by the new Renault Kwid, the redi-Go is reported to use the Kwid’s 800cc, 3-cylinder petrol engine producing 54 PS of power and 72 Nm of torque respectively. A 5-speed manual gearbox will send power to the front wheels. An AMT also is likely to be on offer, considering that the Kwid is waiting to receive the same technology.
According to reports, Datsun India is expected to unveil its third model the ‘redi-Go’ at the upcoming 2016 Auto Expo in Greater Noida in February. The redi-Go is likely to be positioned below the Go hatchback and will go on-sale by first half of 2016.
