Datsun is looking to make inroads in the Indian market by updating their products regularly. Their current product line-up consists of three products, namely the Go hatchback, Go+ compact wagon and the Redi-Go entry-level hatchback. As per reports, all 3 of them will come in a special edition in order to boost their sales this festive-season.
There will be limited stocks for these special edition models when they go on-sale. Meanwhile, Datsun are also readying a compact SUV which will enter the market next-year. It will rival the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Ford Ecosport and the Tata Nexon.
Datsun have appeared to confirm the news regarding their compact SUV recently. They will also introduce facelifted versions of the Go and Go+ next year. These will feature key changes such as revised styling, touchscreen infotainment system, ABS, dual airbags and electronic stability control.
Engine-wise, both cars will employ the existing 1.2-litre, three-cylinder, HR12DE petrol engine. This engine produces 67 BHP of power and 104 Nm of torque. It will come mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox, though there is also talk of Datsun offering a CVT transmission on the new models.
Datsun launched the facelifted Go and Go+ in the Indonesian market earlier this-year. This indicates that their India launch is not far away from now. As far as the special editions are concerned, we can expect Datsun to add some equipment in order to make their cars more desirable.
