The Mahindra Quanto was launched in a time when the mini SUV segment had started gaining market share. The SUV was derived from the Xylo with a shorter rear design and was targeted at small size families. With the rear end chopped off to upto 535mm the Quanto was classified in the sub 4-meter segment and it had its own advantages. Most of the interior components are taken from the Xylo with some modifications in the color tone.
After the launch the sales of the Quanto looked quite impressive, but in turned out that the sales figures instead of going up went down gradually, probably because of new and better models launched by competitors. Looking at the sales figures going downhill there has been some dealer level customization done to give a better external appeal. Recently our friends at IAB come across one such modified Quanto.
The SUV in the picture is a C4 mid-level variant with some external cosmetic changes that include, dual tone alloy wheels with red accents, the rubber strips on the doors also have the same color tone as of the wheels and the door handles and the OVRM’s with chrome treatment. The rear end receives a rear spoiler that matches the same color tone as of wheels and the rubber strips and a parking sensor is also included in the package. On the interior the main upgrade is the leather seat covers, other than that the illuminated Quanto brand door sills and a display for the GPS navigation system are added.
Although, the price of the upgrade package is not known, if there is any, it’s also not very clear it these customizations can be as per the buyers choice, in terms of color selection. One thing is for sure the effort taken by the dealers is impressive, let’s see how much it works in their way.
