General Motors India has yesterday launched the Beat and Sail U-VA Manchester United Limited Editions in India, sporting the iconic football club’s livery all across the hatchbacks. Based on the LS variant, the Manchester United Limited Edition cars are available in both, petrol and diesel options and cost Rs. 69,000 more than the regular models.
Chevrolet Beat Manchester United Limited Edition
Additionally, the Manchester United Limited Edition cars are painted in Super Red and sport Manchester United decals on the bonnet, side profiles and also inside the cabin, alloy wheels, roof rails, ORVM’s with integrated turn indicators and exclusive branding. On the inside, Chevrolet has provided special seat covers, leather wrapped steering wheel, illuminated LED scuff plates, 2-DIN audio system and Bluetooth connectivity as well as reverse parking sensors as part of the features list.
Mechanically, both the special edition models remain the same. The Beat comes powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine producing 81 PS of power and 108 Nm of torque, while the diesel variant is powered by a 1.0-litre engine producing 59 PS and 150 Nm of torque. On the other hand, the Sail U-VA gets a 1.2-litre petrol motor producing 86 PS and 113 Nm of torque, and a 1.3-litre diesel unit producing 78 PS and 205 Nm of torque. Both the models come with a 5-speed manual transmission.
Chevrolet Sail U-VA Manchester United Limited Edition
The Beat and Sail hatchback Manchester United Limited Editions were first displayed at the 2014 Auto Expo held earlier this year. The two models were designed by the General Motors Technical Centre India (GMTC-I) in Bangalore.
