Our good friends at MotorBeam reports that General Motors India has recalled the Chevrolet Beat over a fuel pipe issue. The Beat petrol variant manufactured before July 31, 2010 could have accumulation of electronic discharge in the nonconductive fuel pipe.
Chevrolet Beat silently recalled over fuel pipe issue.
This recall only affects petrol units and the company has been sending letters to customers individually asking them to bring in their cars for checks. Additionally, dealerships have been asked to contact the owners and schedule appointments and carry out these checks. In case a problem is detected, the necessary repairs or replacement of parts will be carried out at no cost to the customer.
While all repairs to affected parts will take just a couple of hours, this could be delayed depending on work entailed and additional traffic in workshops. Customers who have not yet been contacted need to contact GM Service at 1800-3000-8080 or get in touch via email at [email protected]
