Hero MotoCorp working on a bigger Impulse for 2015?

Hero MotoCorp being one of the largest manufacturers and sellers of two wheelers in the Indian market has been rumored to be working on a more powerful Impulse since October last-year. As per the reports obtained, Hero MotoCorp is expected to partner with Erik Buell Racing (EBR) in order to develop the upcoming more powerful Impulse.

Mr. Pawan Munjal, CEO and Director of Hero Motor Corp reported that –

“The Company will launch the Impulse again in the Indian market. Hero is now making some changes for the Impulse. The new Impulse will get a bigger displacement engine along with the current 150cc engine. Hero’s new partner Erik Buell Racing is helping the team to develop the impulse and make it even better.”

Currently, Hero’s Impulse is powered with 149.2cc, air-cooled, 4-stroke, single cylinder petrol motor which produces a maximum power of 13.2 PS at a maximum torque of 13.4 NM. With the help of EBR, we expect that Hero’s upcoming Impulse would feature more powerful engine something nearer to 223 cc engine found in the recently launched updated Karizma.

As already read by our dear readers, in our previous posts couple of months ago at BharathAutos, Hero has developed a new platform for the upcoming HX250R motorcycles which would be shared with three products in the near future comprising of a Sports bike, Street fighter machine to compete the likes of KTM Duke and an off-roader like the Impulse. The third product being an off-roader like the Impulse could actually be the updated and bigger Impulse.

Stay tuned at BharathAutos as we keep you updated once more information is available.
