Bajaj Auto might be gearing-up to launch its new 150cc commuter motorcycle the V15, but the company has already prepared for the launch of another model the CS 400 (Cruiser Sport) probably by May-2016.
In an interview with CarandBike, Bajaj Auto’s President of Motorcycle Business, Eric Vas confirmed saying “the next motorcycle will be a big bike, bigger than anything currently on offer from Bajaj,” which is undoubtedly the bigger Pulsar, the CS 400.
The KTM Duke 390’s tamer cousin is a sport cruiser that draws inspiration from much bigger power cruisers. The CS 400 concept was first revealed at the 2014 Auto Expo alongside the Pulsar SS400. However, the production-spec version is likely to undergo some cosmetic and mechanical changes which will reduce cost dramatically.
The Pulsar CS400 is reportedly powered by its Austrian sibling, the KTM RC390. The liquid-cooled, single-cylinder 373.2 cc motor on the Duke is tuned to produce 43bhp and maximum torque of 35Nm, paired to a 6-speed gearbox. But in the CS 400 the power output is likely to be around 40 bhp of power and 32Nm of torque.
