Bajaj Auto shuts Kawasaki Ninja 650R bookings till Diwali?

Kawasaki Ninja 650R

Bajaj Auto recently launched Kawasaki Ninja 650R sports bike in India. Ninja 650R took everyone by storm as it was priced lower than everyone expected. Keeping the 250R’ prices as framework, people expected the Ninja to touch 6 lakh rupees, but at 4.57 lakh rupees (Ex-showroom) it was a steal!

Bajaj dealers have suspended bookings for Ninja 650R and hence need to take some steps in order to complete the current orders.  Bajaj Auto has seen such a demand in sales and bookings that they have temporarily put all further bookings of the bike on hold. They expect to resume bookings after the coming Diwali season by which time they hope to clear all current bookings and deliveries.

Kawasaki Ninja 650R is a direct rival of another recently launched 650cc motorcycle, the Hyosung GT650R. With such a hefty demand for the Ninja 650R, it is built from CKD kits arriving from Thailand and assembled at the Bajaj Auto plant situated at Chakan in Pune. It is predicted that Garware Hyosung may decrease prices to compete with Kawasaki Ninja 650R and to increase sales.
