Now here’s something to get properly excited about – the new 2021 Toyota Fortuner facelift! Folks at GaadiWaadi have posted this spy video of Toyota’s upcoming full-size undergoing on-road tests on a public highway somewhere in India.
We expect the 2021 Fortuner to enter the Indian market later this-year or early 2021. It is available in two grades – Standard and Legender versions in the Thai market in June 2020 and will extend its scope to other Asian markets like India.
The Legender’s potential to make its way to India is slim and no official confirmation is yet out. For this video the standard version is the test mule carrying emission test kit. The product changes can be clearly seen when wearing no camo as the front fascia is equipped with new styling elements to further prolong the lifespan of the current model.
Design-wise, the 2021 Toyota Fortuner facelift comes with LED projector headlamps, built-in LED Daytime Running Lights chrome thick bar, redesigned front grille, extensively updated fog lamp housing and front bumper with horizontal LED turn signals, newly equipped 18-inch alloy wheels, chrome-plated window frame, chrome door handles, black pillars and new side steps.
You could also see LED tail lamps restyled round the back, rear skid plate, FORTUNER lettering on the tailgate and revised bumper. The cabin is getting a host of improvements and new equipment including a bigger touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, new Optitron meter with a 4.2-inch MID, view camera, auto climate control, wireless charger, etc.
As for the powertrain, the 2.8-liter four-cylinder diesel engine has been upgraded to produce 204 PS and 500 Nm while the 2.7-liter petrol model will continue with 166 PS and 245 Nm in its functions. It will offer both manual and automatic transmissions.
