Recently it is come into light that the Audi has dropped plans to produce the all-electric R8 e-tron supercar. That does mean we will never see a fuel-efficient supercar from Audi? However, according to fresh reports in the AutoCarUK, Audi is working on a Le Mans-inspired diesel hybrid supercar that would sit above the R8.
Furthermore the sources reveal that the car could be badged the Audi R10 and is planned to be the road-going version of the brand’s Le Mans-winning R18 e-Tron quattro.
The track car used electricity generated from a flywheel system to power one electric motor for each front wheel. As of now, no specs or details have been revealed about the same, but we can expect a carbonfibre monocoque underpinning the car and a diesel no larger than a V8.
