The German automaker, Audi has recently wraps off its facelifted R8 ahead of its public debut at the Paris motor show in September. Instead of a complete redesign, the new R8 will see a few minor uplifts on the exteriors and interiors along with some changes under the hood. For instance, a new 7 speed S tronic dual clutch transmission takes the place of the earlier 6 speed automated manual R tronic.

Exterior features on the new R8 include a new bumper and light cluster design, a new ‘R8’ logo, a restyled rear diffuser and rounded single exhaust pipes in each corner. While the interiors are slightly modified, the changes are limited to the instrument pane and paddles. There is a Nappa full-leather treatment for seats, door panels and lining. Also standard is the navigation system and the Bang & Olufsen Sound System and a choice of matte colors.

Where power and speed are concerned, the 4.2 liter V8 engine is capable of 424 hp and 430 Nm torque with top speed of 300 km/h, while the 5.2 liter V10 engine promises 518 hp and 530 Nm torque and a top speed of 314 km/h. Auto emissions now stand lowered by 22 g/km and weight is also reduced due to the inclusion of a new Wave design for brake disks that lowers weight by nearly 2 kgs as against the earlier round disc brakes.
