The German automaker, Audi has been successfully selling the Audi Q range worldwide. This success has made the brand all the more ambitious which is now moving on the path of expansion of its Q range of crossovers with new models like Q2, Q4, Q6 and Q8 within next 2-6 years. Now the company is planning to add yet another variant of Q series to its line-up – the Q9.
The Audi Q9 will be based on an extended platform of the next generation Audi Q7 (MLB platform). It will reach 5.15 meters in length that’s bigger than both the Range Rover and the Mercedes GL-class. Other details are unknown at the moment but sources close to us say it will be powered by a 3.0-litre V12 configuration TDI engine with Quattro all-wheel drive. The target market will be America Europe and China.
Expect the Audi Q9 to make its debut as a prototype at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show.
