BA readers might be remembering our earlier post regarding Hyundai’s getting aggressive to enter the mass market which is dominated by the Maruti Alto. Hyundai is planning a smaller car which sits on a platform smaller than the Hyundai Santro.
Hyundai has been extensively testing its upcoming small car, the HA/H800 not only in India but even in its home country. We have been closely tracking the story in the past. In our previous stories, the new small car from Hyundai was appeared with heavy camouflages on to protect its styling aspects. In the latest images shot from Korea as well, Hyundai HA is heavily camouflaged but clearly shows the headlights and front grille only.
If Hyundai retains this styling, Hyundai HA could be a head turner in sub-compact segment. The HA borrows design cues from its elder sibling in the Hyundai line-up, which is a good thing. The tail lamp design has some close relation to its big brother new generation Hyundai i10. The mini-i10 look will certainly do wonders as will the 800cc engine which will offer fantastic fuel efficiency. Being a Hyundai we can expect this car to be a value for money and practical package.
This tiny wonder from Hyundai will be launched in the first half of 2012 and is expected to be showcased at the Indian Auto Expo 2012 in January. Hyundai India is developing HA in their R&D center located in Hyderabad. The all new small car HA is expected to fight against Tata Nano in our market.
