News has come that Aprilia have officially postponed the launch of their upcoming RS 150 and Tuono 150 for the market. This is in line with the company focusing on models catering to the 300-400 cc space. Piaggio had confirmed the news of that during the digital launch of the Vespa Racing Sixty.
This comes as a major surprise as both the RS 150 and Tuono 150 attracted a lot of customer interest when they were first unveiled during the 2018 Auto Expo. Aprilia were slated to launch them soon and it became a matter of when rather than why. Two years down the line, it seems we have to wait for it further as there is not much news surrounding them.
Aprilia are keen on bringing it and will be expected make a decision on it during the coming months. The company had earlier hinted that they were still judging market interests and would launch the two products accordingly. However, Aprilia are currently monitoring the 300-400 cc space and will be looking forward to have their say on it.
Hence, we can expect a larger capacity product from the company on the cards. Aprilia will be completely manufacturing the motorcycle in India and we can hope that it will be coming here at a competitive price tag. It is to be noted that the product is in its early stages of development and as said by Aprilia, it would require about 2-3 years of time until it gets production ready.
When launched, the motorcycle will be placed alongside the TVS Apache RR 310, KTM Duke 390 and the Honda CB 300R in its segment. With Aprilia being the next entrant in the 300-400 cc space, the future of the segment looks quite a promising one in many ways. This can be attributed to the growing demand of higher capacity products here, with more and more companies trying to bring in one of their own.
