SPIED: All-New Mahindra Thar, with less camo & interior

The forthcoming All-New Mahindra Thar has been spotted by spy photographer source once again, the test car now gives a clearer view of more of its exterior panels, and also shows the interior with a much-awaited front-facing rear seats.

The new Mahindra Thar is bigger than its predecessor and looks more like the Wrangler Jeep. The SUV also retains its traditional design featuring a typical seven-slat grille with circular headlamps and flared arches for wheels. The test car seen in this picture has circular fog lamps mounted on the front bumper, and the front fenders have pilot lights. The development car also has side steps and is riding on 5-speed alloy wheels.

Inside, the 2020 Mahindra Thar gets a multifunction steering wheel, a center console touchscreen head panel, carbon fiber-like trim around the AC vents, chrome trim around the gear levers, and Thar branding at the doors. The SUV gets front-facing seats at the back, with adjustable head rests. This even seems to get roof-mounted speakers.

The all-new Mahindra Thar is going to have soft top and hard top choices. There’s a hard top to the car seen in these pictures. Based on the Gen3 platform, it is projected to be wider than the outgoing vehicle. A 2.0-liter mStallion petrol engine which produces 187 BHP and 380 Nm and a 2.2-liter 138 BHP diesel engine could power the SUV. Transmission options could include a 6-speed automatic and manual shift. It could also get a version of the AT diesel.

On 15 August 2020, the all-new Mahindra Thar you call it a 2020 or 2021 model will make its debut. We expect the all-new Mahindra Thar to start at a price of INR 10 lakh mark for a entry-level variant and go up to INR 14 lakh for the range-topping option.
