Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. (HMSI) has introduced the updated version of the Dio in India to meet BSIV emission norms. It also gets AHO with an LED light on the top.
Apart from the above changes, the 2017 Dio gets few cosmetic changes and features update. The front visor comes with a smiling light element topped with the unique LED position lights. It also gets updated paint schemes and a dual-tone front apron now. Furthermore, the sporty new graphics reinforce the Moto Scooter concept.
A total of 5 colours are on offer – Pearl Sports Yellow, Vibrant Orange, Sports Red, Matte Axis Grey Metallic and Candy Jazz Blue. The initial two colours are new in the line-up while the Candy Palm Green shade has been discontinued. Other note worthy changes include reworked speedometer with edgy design, Auto Headlamp On and a mobile charging socket.
Although tweaked to meet the BS IV emission norms, the new Dio continues to be powered by the same 109.19 cc single cylinder, air cooled mill mated to a V-matic gearbox. This unit develops 8 BHP at 7000 RPM and 8.91 Nm at 5500 RPM with top-speed of 83 KMPH. The BSIV complaint Honda Dio tips the scales at 103 kg which is a reduction of 2 kg.
Brakes are drum at both ends and get Honda’s patented Combined Braking System with Equalizer. The Honda Dio gets 10-inch wheels and tubeless tyres. Prices for the 2017 BSIV-compliant Honda Dio have been raised by Rs 870. The new model is priced at Rs. 49,132/- (ex-showroom, Delhi).
