New Hyundai Santro (Hyundai AH2) revealed before official debut

Hyundai will bring back the iconic Santro nameplate to the Indian market in the upcoming festive season. Launch of this car is scheduled to take place on October 23, with dealers currently accepting booking across the country. Recently, the Santro has been clicked during dealer dispatch at unknown Hyundai dealership in India.

All-New Hyundai Santro will be on-sale in five grades: D-Lite, Era, Magna, Sportz and Asta.

The Santro is seen with an aggressive design having swept-back headlamps, highly-placed fog lamps and a new grille. On the rear, the car has a large windscreen, new tail-lamps and a wide boot lid. This is based on Hyundai’s ‘Fluidic sculpture 2.0’ design language.

The interiors will be having features like a 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, reverse camera, rear AC vents and so on. On the safety front, the Santro will have dual airbags, ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensors, seat belt reminder and speed warning system. It is 3610mm in length, and 45mm more than the previous Santro, resulting in more interior space.

The upcoming Hyundai Santro is likely to be priced in the range from Rs. 3.88-5.21 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

The Santro will use the 1.1-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine. This engine will deliver 68 BHP of power and 99 Nm of torque  It will come mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox, with automatic being available as an option.

Prices from the new Santro are from Rs.3.88 lakh-Rs.5.21 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Santro will rival the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Celerio, Tata Tiago and the Renault Kwid. Hyundai offers the Santro in five variants – Dlite, Era, Asta, Magna and Sportz with the first three being available in both petrol and CNG versions.
