The current-gen Toyota Innova has been axed from the company’s range in India, echoing a move made to make way for the next-gen Toyota Innova Crysta.
Toyota dealers have already begun to accept bookings for the Innova Crysta by paying Rs 50,000. While this bit of information has no official confirmation from Toyota India yet, the dealers also promise delivery in May 2016. The fact remains that this occurrence is fairly common in India, where the cars and motorcycle dealers unofficially begin taking bookings for holy anticipated products.
In 2005, Toyota Innova was introduced in India as a replacement for the aging Toyota Qualis. Since then the Innova had been the top selling MPVs with an average of around 5,000 units per month lately. Although the Maruti Ertiga has manages to put a dent on the Innova sales, other affordable alternatives like Honda Mobilio and the Renault Lodgy are struggling to keep its sales floating.
