Dacia Lodgy which is manufactured by Romanian company Dacia is unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in 2012. It’s the Dacia’s first MPV and is expected to reach India under Renault manufacturer by the first half of the year 2015 or by the end of 2014.The first set of reviews speak positively about the MPV (or MUV), some senior journalists in India are ready to shower a positive praise on the budget family van.
As the Renault Lodgy line-up with MUV’s, according to some popular websites, it may take on Toyota Innova and Mahindra Xylo. But considering the growing MUV market in India it is pretty late to launch the vehicle. Declining to share the details on models or targets, Renault India managing director Marc Nassif said,” We will take the direction of where the market is going, right now the market is moving to SUV and you look at our performance. MPV will see huge trend and Renault will have to find a solution to go wisely and also find out what is best in our DNA to go into small cars.”
Plenty of room across all three rows of seats and an ‘exceptionally large boot’ are the specialties of the car and apparently referring lodge’s ability to accommodate a family and its luggage. Renault India, which launched five products in 15 months and tasted success with its sports utility vehicle Duster, has also set its sights on its entry-level car to boost its volumes in the country.
Safety Ratings –
Euro NCAP is not pleased at all with the Dacia lodgy MPV’s safety credentials, after having subjected it to their entire array of tests. Renault Group’s Dacia lodgy scores three stars in Euro NCAP crash tests. Its given the remark of below average in all the areas of safety The crash test score is believed to be the lowest result for a car in 2012.
MEDIA NAV –
The main menu provides simple access to six essential functions: radio, media, telephone, maps, satellite navigation and settings. The intuitive, touch-sensitive navigation system has both 2D and 3D graphics. A dedicated website enables drivers to access information updates and upload them via the USB port.
