2013 Audi RS5 Cabriolet to be unveiled at the upcoming Paris Motor Show

Audi has released the firstever official images of the Audi RS5 Cabriolet just before its 2012 Paris Motor Show public debut. Apart from a convertible top, the RS5 Cabriolet gets a grey front spoiler, RS badging and 19-inch forged wheels made of aluminium, to differentiate it from its hard-top cousin. The company is also offering customers an option to choose 21-inch wheels.

The Audi RS5 Cabriolet also gets the some upgrades to its performance and mechanicals as the coupe. That means power comes from a 4.2 liter naturally aspirated V8 engine making 450-hp at 8,250 rpm and a maximum torque of 430-Nm between 4,000 and 6,000 rpm.

The engine is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch S-Tronic gearbox and Audi’s quattro permanent all-wheel drive system is standard with a 40:60 front/rear power ratio. Audi claims that the Cabriolet will hit 0-100kmph in just 4.9 seconds and top out at an electronically limited top speed of 250kmph. Customers can also choose to increase the speed limit to 280kmph.

The Audi RS5 Cabriolet’s top opens and closes at the press of a button in 15 seconds and 17 seconds at speeds of up to 31 mph.

Delivers of the Audi RS5 Cabriolet will start in Europe in early-2013. It will be priced at Rs 61.83 lakh excluding duties.
