Last-week, we showed you a video of nine-year-old boy driving a Ferrari F430 in Kochi that was uploaded on Youtube a couple of weeks ago. The fresh report of the web suggests that the boy’s father Mohammad Nisham, a bidi firm owner, has been arrested under the Juvenile Justice Act and Motor Vehicles act.
On last-Friday, Peramangalam police immediately swung into action and summoned Nisham to explain about allowing his minor son drive the heavy powered Italian vehicle. Later, he was booked under section 23 of the JJ act for encouraging underage driving and under the MV act for allowing unlicensed child drive the vehicle.
Now the folks at Motor Vikatan say the 9-year-old boy and the boy’s father Mohammad Nisham driving illegally arrested by Kerala police on Saturday.
The video was shot by his parents and posted on Youtube channel by the boy’s father, the video had gone viral, creating a huge furore, with several criticizing the act as a case of “irresponsible parenting”. But the Thrissur-based Nishams were unconcerned, with the boy’s mother telling NDTV that she was “proud” of her “talented” son’s “achievement” at this age.
“It was his ninth birthday, and since he was insisting for months, we allowed him to drive the Ferrari. He is a cautious and confident driver. I am proud of him,” Amal Nisham, the boy’s mother, had told NDTV.
She in fact, defended the action, saying that her son had driven the Ferrari on a “private road” in their residential colony and added that she ensured that no child was around at the time. But contrary to her claims, the video shows some children following the car. A young boy can also be seen sitting next to the nine-year-old.
The boy’s parents had said he had driven several other cars owned by them including a Lamborghini Bentley and Porsche.
