The first set of pictures of the upcoming 2020 Maruti Swift facelift has leaked online, ahead of its imminent launch in Japan.
From the leaked pictures, it is evident that the Japanese-Spec 2020 Swift facelift will be available with two different front grills, one with simple horizontal slats and one with a honeycomb pattern, and two different front bumpers, one of which is slightly sportier. Like the current model, the buyers in Japan will have the option of the sportier grille with a regular bumper to choose from.
A dual-tone exterior finishes the new Swift on these leaked pictures. It has a contrasting roof, blackened-out A & B pillars, and black-painted ORVMs. Furthermore, it rides on new dual-tone alloy wheels. However, the India-spec is likely to retain the same alloys as the current car. Maruti Suzuki is rumored to launch the 2020 Maruti Swift facelift later this-year around the festive season for the Indian market.
Updated BS6-compliant 90BHP 1.2-litre K12C DualJet petrol engine is expected to drive the vehicle. The engine could either be paired with a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT. It will not come with the 12v mild-hybrid system as listed in Japan, but will offer engine START -STOP feature. No diesel engine option will be available on updated hatchback.
