2020 Maruti Ignis facelift leaked; alternate front-end

The upcoming Maruti Ignis facelift is expected to debut at the 2020 Indian Auto Expo with a handful of styling updates and an updated BS6-compliant 1.2-litre K-series petrol engine.

The Maruti Ignis is a cross-hatchback, although its more popular than its head-on rival, Mahindra KUV100, it is not as popular as the Maruti Swift. Nevertheless, thanks to its SUVish appearance, frugal engine and easy maintenance, which the Ignis enjoys from a devoted group of followers who have a liking for this vehicle.

At the upcoming biennial event, Maruti Suzuki is likely to introduce an Ignis mid-life facelift. The Maruti Ignis facelift will feature a range of exterior updates and a new BSVI-compliant petrol engine that will allow the carmaker to continue to sell the cross-hatch after more stringent emission standards have been implemented.

As far as the exterior updates are concerned, the 2020 Maruti Ignis will come with an all-new bumper that looks much bolder than the current model. The upper grille, which actually has a horizontal chrome slat, will also be replaced by a toothed panel very similar to what you get on the S-Presso and Jimny.

Other than this, it would market the BS6 Maruti Ignis facelift with new color choices to further update its exterior appeal. The interior could also receive several minor updates in the form of new upholstery and one or two additional features. There will be a major update in the form of a new 1.2-liter K-series petrol engine compatible with the BSVI.
