Isuzu has not yet been able to make itself a household name in India. Its dealer network remains a cause of concern, since there are very few of them here. But, the Japanese automaker will concentrate on the future and have a couple of interesting launches around the corner.
Among these will be a compact SUV and a mid-size SUV, with both of them presently in their development stages. However, one product that could get an upgrade is the D-Max V-Cross pick-up truck. This of course, is the only premium pick-up truck available here currently.
The next-generation of the D-Max V-Cross was spied undergoing testing in regions of Scandinavia. Pictures clicked show the vehicle being larger and taller than the current one. Being a dual-cab variant, one noticeable change is the addition of larger rear doors, which could result in more passenger space.
Engine-wise, the D-Max V-Cross will come powered by the same 1.9-litre, four-cylinder, turbo diesel motor. Isuzu may offer the 3.0-litre, turbo diesel engine on the pick-up truck as well. It will come mated either to a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission.
The D-Max V-Cross will come with a four-wheel drive layout, as is the case with most Isuzu vehicles. Isuzu, however have not yet revealed whether they will be bringing the second iteration of the vehicle here. If they do, the D-Max V-Cross will be expected to arrive to our shores by late 2020, as per reports.
