Suzuki will be bringing a 250cc version of their popular Gixxer to the Indian market soon. As per reports, the motorcycle is set for a launch around the first half of 2019. Suzuki will launch it as a fully-faired motorcycle in order to fill the hole of an affordable performance sportsbike in their line-up.
The 2019 Suzuki Gixxer 250s engine will develop around 22-25 BHP SOHC powered by a (single overhead cam) layout and four valves.
Later on, we can expect the bikemaker to be launching a naked version of the Gixxer 250. The fully-faired motorcycle will have design cues borrowed from the GSX-S750 and the GSX-S1000. It will come powered by a 250CC, SOHC, oil-cooled motor.
Recently, images of the patented engine has been doing the rounds in the internet. As for the specifications, the engine of the motorcycle will be producing in excess of 22-25 BHP of power. It will come mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
The upcoming Gixxer 250 will feature a vertically stacked oil cooler to keep the costs low.
Features include LED headlamps and tail-lamps, digital console, split seats, front and rear disc brakes and so on. The motorcycle will be having a performance-oriented stance which could entice buyers. It is set to receive a telescopic suspension at the front and a rear monoshock system.
The Gixxer 250 is expected to be priced at around Rs. 1.50 lakh. When launched, it will compete with the likes of the KTM Duke 250, Yamaha FZ25, Bajaj Pulsar RS200 and the TVS Apache RR 310S. Suzuki will be hoping that the Gixxer 250 creates a similar sort of buzz as done by its 150cc siblings here.
