Maruti Suzuki will launch the next-generation Swift by the end of this year. The car has received a positive response from audiences and experts, predicting that it could be another winner from Maruti Suzuki. But not many of us know that a sportier version of the hatchback is on its way for India next-year, called the Swift Sport.
These images show that Swift Sport alongside the Indian-bound Swift and there are some differences despite both of the same platform. The Swift Sport is seen with a bigger-grille compared to the Swift and is also longer and wider. Suzuki recently showcase Swift Sport in the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show.
The Swift will derive its power from a 1.4-litre K14C BoosterJet engine, giving 148 BHP of power and 248 Nm of torque. Features may include 17-inch wheels, a 4.2-inch touch-screen infotainment system with Apple Car Play and Android Auto, dual exhaust pipe and diffuser to name a few. It shares most of it designs used with the soon-to-be-launched Swift, and will get an all-black theme for the cabin with leather upholstery.
Price could start from Rs. 10-12 lakhs and it could be showcased at Auto Expo next-year. Rumours are also that Maruti may consider launch in the Swift RS, similar to the Baleno RS, rivals could be in the form of the Abarth Punto, Volkswagen Polo GT TSI and Maruti Suzuki’s very own Baleno RS.
