The Ford EcoSport has received an update to its engine and feature-list just in time for this festive season. It also gets a new Trend+ variant and pricing starts from Rs. 6,79,563 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The updated EcoSport gets no exterior styling tweaks, looks identical to the outgoing car. However, the 2016 EcoSport gets a signature LED light guide, non-LED daytime running lights and a new colour – Golden Bronze (coffee brown). The existing 7 body colours is retained – Mars Red, Diamond White, Panther Black, Kinetic Blue, Moondust Silver, Chill Metallic and Smoke Grey.
Feature-wise, the 2016 Ford EcoSport comes equipped with automatic headlamps, rain sensing wipers, auto-dimming mirror, a start/stop button and the updated Ford SYNC 2.0 multimedia infotainment system with AppLink. The interior gets cluster ring and cluster appliqué, chrome treated inner door handles, leather covers for the steering wheel and handbrake lever.
There are no mechanical changes in both the petrol motor – 1.5-litre TiVCT and 1.0-litre EcoBoost. However, the 1.5-liter TDCi diesel engine is now retuned to produce 100 PS and 205 Nm of torque, as compared to the earlier 91 PS and 204 Nm. As a result, the fuel-efficiency has gone down by 0.4 kmpl offering 22.27 kmpl. The engine continues to be mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
