American auto-maker, Jeep will bring a brand new variant of the Compass SUV to India soon. It will be called the Trailhawk and it will be off-road bound version of the Compass. The Jeep Compass Trailhawk will be the most expensive variant of the Compass sold in India.
Bookings have been opened for this SUV, though it has not been officially announced by Jeep yet. We can expect a good amount of people to purchase it, given the recent success of the Compass. The booking amount is said to be Rs.50,000.
Coming to its specifications, the Compass Trailhawk will be powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine producing 170 bhp of power and 350 Nm of torque. It will arrive only in an diesel-automatic drivetrain. The engine will come mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission, which will also get an all-wheel drive system.
On the exterior, the design will largely remain the same. The changes include two hooks integrated on the bumpers, a dual-core paint scheme and a off-road favouring suspension. The interiors will carry an all-black scheme, with red stitchings to make them look sporty.
On price, the Compass Trailhawk will come at a price of Rs. 2.5 lakhs costlier than the Diesel Limited 4×4 variant of the Compass. It could come at an on-road price of Rs.27 lakhs to be estimated. Jeep does manufacture the Trailhawk variant in India, but that is for exports, so manufacturing may not be a challenge for Jeep.
