Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) announced the launch of the New Platinum Etios and New Etios Liva. Designed for the Indian market by the Indian minds, the new Etios is guaranteed to delight customers with its bold new design, unbeatable safety features & unmatched performance.
Design-wise, the new Platinum models get a re-designed front fascia with all-new bumper with larger intakes, V-shaped grille outlined with chrome, boomerang-shaped chrome accents on foglamps enclosures. At the rear, the bumper has been slightly reworked and the bootlid of the Platinum Etios has a chrome running strip on the boot lid. A new set of alloy wheels will be offered on the top-end model.
Moving inside, the new Platinum models comes with new ‘Optitron’ instrument cluster (now gets digital tachometer), dual tone black and ivory dashboard, new ivory fabric seats, power-operated ORVMs, foldable rear bench seat, and a rear armrest. Toyota has also focused on improving its safety standards. It now features ABS as standard across the range, ISOFIX child seat locks, apart from dual airbags.
No changes to the engine options on offer with a 1.5-litre petrol for the Etios sedan, a 1.2-litre petrol for the Liva htach, while both of them also get the 1.4-litre diesel. These engines are offered with a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard. The pre-facelift models will be sold alongside the new Platinum models, though the latter will be sold only to taxi and fleet operators.
