Folks at GaadiWaadi had posted pictures of what is allegedly the facelifted Etios Liva and Etios sedan completely uncamouflaged. The Etios twins are scheduled to launch before this year’s festive season, on the other-hand some reports are pointing towards a launch on September 13, 2016.
The Etios twins facelift looks similar to the Etios Platinum, which was launched in Brazil last-month. In the form of a new V-shaped grille outlined with chrome, a new front bumper with chrome foglight enclosures, new alloy wheels and a re-profiled rear bumper. Also seen is chrome running strip on the boot lid of the Etios sedan.
Inside, the updated Etios twins are a new multi-function flat-bottomed steering wheel, and instrument panel appears to get a chrome highlight. However, the centre-mounted instrument console remains same as before, and not as advanced as the Brazilian-spec Etios’s fully-digital instrument cluster. Also, the Brazilian version gets a touchscreen entertainment system, while the Indian version carries on the 2-DIN music system albeit with Bluetooth and AUX connectivity.
The Etios twins could continue with the existing range of engines. The Etios sedan with a 1.5-litre petrol and 1.4-litre diesel engines while the Liva gets a 1.2-litre petrol or a 1.4-litre diesel engine. Transmission duties will be handled by a 5-speed manual gearbox on both the models.
