Remember the first-generation Yamaha YZF-R15? Here’s just the same but re-named as ‘Yamaha YZF R15-S’ re-launched at 11th NADA Auto Show in Nepal at NR 3.34 lakh (Rs 2.09 lakh).
Having launched in Nepal, the launch of YZF R15-S is confirmed for India at this festive season. The company has re-launched the first-gen YZF-R15 based on the customer feedback, as a particular customer segment desired for a single seat version as it is high on comfort for the pillion rider. This pillion friendly single-piece seat also comes handy to load luggage for road trips.
Apart from the single-piece seat, the YZF R15-S will get an tail-kit, grab rails, LED tail-lamp and rear fender from the pre-facelift model. Other components like the wider rear tyre with tyre hugger, 2-by-2 5-spoke alloy wheels, longer swingarm, exhaust, suspension, brakes and other greasy bits have been carried over from the YZF-R15 Version 2.0. Unlike we predicted earlier, the YZF R15-S in India will be costlier (yes expensive) than the current variant.
