The images of the new Range Rover Sport have surfaced online ahead of its reveal at the New York Auto Show (NYAS). The car will be officially unveiled on 26 March when it is driven through Manhattan the day before the show opens.Earlier in the week, Land Rover released a brief video teaser of the new Range Rover Sport along with an official press release regarding the unveiling at New York.
Looks like they should have guarded the car more closely, as these revealing pictures made their way on to the cyber space. The images reveal the Sport takes heavy cues from both the smaller, more fashionable Evoque and the flagship, statesmen-like Range Rover. The front lights are narrower than those on the Range Rover and swept back further like the Evoque’s.
The front fascia follows the Evoque in Dynamic trim closely, with a satin-finish faux-sump guard and fog lamps at each corner. There are vents on the bonnet too, just like the Evoque Coupe, and as we’ve seen in the video teaser, the fender vents are now sleeker. The wheels use the same design on both the existing Range Rover models.
At the rear, there’re more Evoque-inspired details such as the slim lights and twin downturned round exhausts. The ‘Sport’ badge is now on the left, with the Range Rover roundel taking over the other side. We are sure that following the leak images of 2014 Range Rover Sport, Land Rover will soon release the official images before the debut.
